Midnight Open Fill
The 00:00 ET print acts as a same-session magnet — price tends to revisit it during RTH. Highest fill rate of any reference level we track. Killed when MN HOLD-SIDE is active.
updated 2026-04-28The setup
The 00:00 ET print is the day’s anchor. On the typical session, price drifts away from it during Asia and London hours, then revisits it during RTH — often early in the cash session. Touch rates are high enough that the fill is one of the most reliable magnets in the stack.
Note this is the mean-revert counterpart to MN HOLD-SIDE. When MN HOLD-SIDE fires (RTH opens 60–200 pts away from MN with 4H trend agreeing), this magnet is killed for the session — the day is statistically a hold day, not a fill day.
Line ships on our chart HUD as MN OPEN FILL.
Entry rules
- Capture: 00:00 ET 1-min open price
- Direction: opposite of current displacement (price above MN → bear fill; below → bull fill)
- Distance gate:
|price − MN| < 4 × ATR14(further than that, it usually doesn’t fill same-day) - Target: the exact MN price
- Kill: disabled when MN HOLD-SIDE is active for the session
- TTL: through RTH close
Why Tier 2
High fill rate but small per-trade edge — the line typically sits within 30–60 NQ points of price, so the move is short. Magnet-class: directionally honest about touching, not about closing past.
History
- 2026-04-28 — Page created. The MN HOLD-SIDE kill was added in 2026-04 after backtest showed the magnet inverts sharply on hold-side days.
